About Our Firm
Your business and its approach to risk can make or break your financial future. If your company has been named in a lawsuit related to a catastrophic injury, a trucking accident, a cargo or intermodal claim, or a construction or oilfield accident, you need an experienced civil litigation attorney who can evaluate your situation and formulate a strategy that leaves you ready to move forward.
At Ellington & Associates, our founding attorney, Owen H. Ellington, brings aggressive courtroom advocacy to high-exposure cases in insurance defense claims, trucking defense and catastrophic injury defense.
Mr. Ellington and his of-counsel attorney, treat each client, large or small, with warmth and professionalism and craft tailored legal strategies to resolve their conflict.

Years Of Courtroom Experience. Skilled At Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Our firm is led by a high-stakes trial attorney. Mr. Ellington has tried more than 100 cases in his 30-year career in law and handled thousands of litigated matters for Houston-area businesses. He is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate and in Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy. He has the experience necessary to develop effective defense strategies for commercial litigants facing expensive claims filed by plaintiffs.
However, not all lawsuits are concluded at trial. It can often be more cost-effective to discuss a settlement before your matter is drawn into protracted litigation. Mr. Ellington is well equipped to forge mediated agreements. He completed the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center training at the University of Houston 2013, and has served as a mediator, umpire and arbitrator.
His expansion of his practice to include mediation was a natural one, he says.
“While I personally enjoy trying lawsuits, I have noticed the trial often takes a toll on the parties, as well as the lawyers. I have found my mediation practice is very rewarding, cheaper and faster than traditional trials are, with predictable results.” – Owen H. Ellington
